Remember when the CIA blew up Twitter?

The spy agency’s funny introduction to the micro-blogging site on June 6 became the most retweeted government/political post on Twitter this year, with more than 300,000 RTs.

The CIA’s tweet is among the top moments for government and politics on Twitter, which were announced Wednesday. Click through the Year on Twitter to find out what made the cut for entertainment and sports.

The list includes topics such as Ebola and the abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls in Nigeria, which led to the #BringBackOurGirls hashtag.

Twitter credits Michelle Obama with helping shine the spotlight on the kidnappings blamed on the Islamic group Boko Haram and says her tweet generated more than 9 million impressions and 4 million embedded Tweet impressions. It was also the first lady’s most retweeted.

In all, Twitter says there were 4.5 million tweets using #BringBackOurGirls.

Michelle Obama’s dance with a turnip also caught Twitter’s attention. Her viral video to promote healthy eating topped 36 million in Vine loops.

Our favorite on this year’s list is #TanSuit, a reference to the time that Twitter just went absolutely nuts because President Obama was wearing a suit that wasn’t blue, black or gray — as he spoke about the threat from the Islamic State militant group.

One of the best #TanSuit rejoinders came from Rep. John Dingell, D-Mich., the soon-to-be retiring dean of the U.S. House of Representatives.
